The Good Ol Boys...what a series title. While each of these books can be read as a standalone you should really consider reading them in order as the characters ebb and flow through each book. Each story is a couple, but the storylines converge, weave and wend their way throughout the series.
You remember Jacob, Lucas' best bud right? And you know Lily, his little sister. Well, what is touted as taboo, not only because of the age gap, but because best friends don't mess with little sisters...well, how can something that is meant to be be taboo?
Jacob and Lily have been from the beginning...it's just the way it is...their feelings evolve, it happens, especially when someone has always been in your life...you love em or you hate em....you can't be indifferent. Lily had that young love for Jacob, she was always wanting to be by his side...come on...don't you remember that seemingly one sided young love? And it always seems to be the girls looking up to that older man...Well, time flies and now it's Jacobs turn...wanting to be with Lily ..Recalling that past love, getting beyond that past hurt...not to mention getting past that older brother who happens to be your best friend, but what will be his biggest obstacle? Lily's heart.
This story begs you to bawl. From losing your mother, turning to one person you feel safest with and being abandoned...how do you cope? Well, you find that inner strength after you cry your heart out.
M Robinson has created a world where our hearts break, collide, tears fall, laughter rings, and happily ever afters sound throughout the arduous journey of living vicariously through her characters. Where their happiness is our happiness, their tears we shed and their fears we feel. I am an emotional reader and Mo writes for me...I can feel it; all of it...and it makes me OH SO FREAKING HAPPY.
