AP new - synopsis.jpg
A Christmas novella where everyone gets their just desserts.
Olive had a major crush on Hank in high school. She was the too-smart, slightly chubby girl who gawked as Hank ran track and made all the cheerleaders swoon. After high school, the two went their separate ways. Olive opened a yoga studio and swore off sweets while Hank traveled the world. No problem, right? At least there wasn’t a problem until Hank moved back to town and opened a candy shop across the street from Olive’s studio. Now, Olive will do everything she can to shut her old crush down. But Hank has other plans, and all of them end with an Olive sundae.

Author’s Note: This is a sweet Christmas treat that will leave you satisfied, yet desperate for a little taste of sugar.
“So, what’s your poison?” He turns and places the boxes on the counter between us.

“Just whatever you have is fine.” I try not to look at the swirling lollypops, jars of jellybeans, or rows of frosted cookies. The caramel candy apples with chocolate drizzle almost catch my eye, but I look away before I become ensnared.

He sidesteps to the candy apple display. “Try one.”

“No.” I keep my tone level. “Just pack up whatever you want to donate, and I’ll be on my way.”

He smiles, and butterflies go to war in my stomach. Lightly tanned skin, bright eyes, and dark hair are still my weakness, almost as much as the mouth-watering candy apple he picks up and holds out to me. “Give it a try.
I just put these out this afternoon. The apples are tart, and I made the caramel myself.”

I glance at the proffered treat. My sweet tooth demands that I take it, but my will is far stronger. “No, thank you.”

His smile grows, as if he already knew I’d decline. Then he raises the apple to his mouth and takes a bite. The perfectly ripe apple makes a delectably crisp crunch between his teeth. I watch as he licks the stray caramel from his lips, and I wonder just how sweet he’d taste.

“What was that?” He takes another bite.

“Hmm?” Lord help me, but I stare. Watch his Adam’s apple bob and follow the movement down into his flannel shirt right where the tan skin disappears behind the fabric.

He grabs a small plate and sets the rest of the apple down. “You just made a noise is all. Like a high-pitched sigh.”
My face burns bright red. A sigh? I made a noise? “No. I don’t think so.”

“Yeah, you did.” He grins. “Almost as if you’d enjoyed that as much as I did.”

I just LOVE Celia Aaron. Her writing, be it novel or novella is always entertaining.
I loved Olive and Hank. They went to school together and Olive, chubby and shy, had a huge crush on track star Hank...only he didn't know.
He comes back to town and Olive is a beautiful svelte and lithe yoga instructor...and Hank..he opens a flippin candy shop right across the street from Olive's yoga studio.
Watch the holiday lights explode as Hank and Olive get together.
Such a sexy, funny, witty enjoyable holiday novella!
Great writing and funny circumstances lead to a great 4 star read.

Excerpt – Accidental Love
The wheels of the rented car spun as Emma turned onto the gravel driveway too fast. The car fishtailed so she hit the brakes and regained control before continuing toward the ranch house. Her foot rested heavily on the accelerator and she was still travelling too fast but was desperate to see her friend, Zoe. The speeding car narrowly missed a cowboy on horseback. Glancing into the rear vision mirror, she saw a thick cloud of dust engulf him. She was too anxious to care.
Emma screeched to a halt near the front door and leapt from the vehicle. Not caring the car door had been left wide open, she raced up the front steps, pulled open the heavy ranch door and crashed inside. “Zoe, where are you?”
Her heart broke when Zoe wheeled herself into the hallway. Seeing her best friend in a wheelchair caused tears to well in her eyes.
“Emma.” Tears streamed down Zoe’s cheeks as she held her arms out to her friend.
Emma rushed to her, dropped to her knees and gathered her into a hug. “I didn’t know, I didn’t know.” Emma dropped her head to Zoe’s chest and trembled as she cried.
Zoe ran her hand over Emma’s hair. “It’s okay, it’s okay.”
The girls were startled by the crashing of the front door against something solid. Someone in boots stomped toward them.
Emma raised her head, brushed away tears and turned around. Her heart slammed against her chest wall, her nipples tightened and her pussy clenched. The attraction was instant.

A Different Love
Blurb to come

The Born Series

#1 – Born To Sin
HAMISH

I was born to an alcoholic mother and alcoholic, drug dealing father. Not a good start to life for a young boy. I was born to sin.
I've lied, cheated, assaulted, been an adulterer and stolen. It's how one survives the 'hood'. I have a reputation for being the 'bad boy', the fuck 'em and leave 'em type. I have never spent the night with a woman and I have never brought a woman home. We 'play' at her place and as soon as I'm done, I leave.
After fleeing my home at the age of thirteen and living on the streets - an option I found better than being with my parents, my life is turned around by an elderly lady.
I educate myself, become an award winning chef and return to the 'hood where I rent an apartment. I love and care about no-one and nothing except my Harley Motorcycle. It's here I met Jonesy and he takes my life in a whole new direction. Along with Wade, a fellow chef and the only person I can trust, the pair teach me how to love. Not only myself, but others.

BLOSSOM

I'm a wealthy Restaurateur thanks to an inheritance I received when my father passed.
I live in a penthouse apartment in the 'rich' part of the city.
Being pampered and spoiled all my life has turned me into a woman who sees something she wants and, like a dog with a bone, I won't let go until it's mine. I'm a winner. I ALWAYS win.
I don't have relationships with men. One night stands suit me just fine. I can't trust it's me they want and not my money.
I meet Hamish by chance when I'm on the hunt for a new Head Chef. He treats me like I'm not worth a second thought. I've never been treated this way and I decide at that moment, I will make Hamish mine.

Hamish has no interest in the pampered Blossom but for some reason she gets under his skin.
Then, something happens that makes him realize, he has fallen in love. Will it be too late? Will tragedy strike before he can hold her in his arms and confess his true feelings?

Excerpt – Midnight Attraction
Aaron perused the man standing in front of him. He was not tall, probably a good six inches shorter than his own six feet five inches. He had an unruly mop of black hair and a dark five o’clock shadow. His body was not that of an athlete but was toned, he appeared fit. What captured Aaron’s attention, and sent waves of desire to his cock, were the man’s eyes. Small but piercing, jet black like pure onyx. He was drawn to them as if they were magnets.
“Aaron.” He placed his glass on the bar and extended his hand. They shook. Firm grasp for a gay man. “My first time.”
Nicci climbed onto the stool next to him. “Alone?”
“Yes, you?”
“Yes. New to the area or coming out?”
“No, lived here for a while. Tried women, didn’t work. Found I like men better.
Nicci laughed before sipping his drink. He had noticed the stranger the moment he’d entered the club. He was a tall man, dark hair, a few years younger than him. Mid-twenties, he guessed. He’d decided to sidle up to the bar and check him out instead of sitting at his usual table. He was pleased he had. The man was beauty personified with a strong, square jaw and smoky gray eyes. His voice was rich, like sweet honey, as it flowed over him. I don’t stand a chance.
“Never bothered with females myself. I like a strong man who can take charge. I need someone to direct me, make me submit to their will.” Why am I telling him this?
Aaron sat up straighter. He was becoming more and more interested in this man. He needed to be in charge, loved to experiment and had been stifled by women who wanted only vanilla sex. Could this be the man who could take what he wanted to give?
“Dance?” Nicci extended his hand.
“Love to.” Aaron grasped his hand and slid from the stool. Excitement swirled in the pit of his stomach. His cock stirred.
They strode to the wooden dance floor in the center of the room and Aaron pulled Nicci into his arms. The shorter man rested his head on Aaron’s chest as they swayed to the soft notes of Strangers in The Night by Frank Sinatra. It seemed so appropriate.

#2 – Complicated Attraction

“This story is so refreshing. So beautiful so different. It left me speechless and content at the end. I was like: yes. That was IT.” ~Heavenly Good Books 5 Star Review
"Listen. Can you just take the cap off? It's annoying me." He laughed, an unexpected sound. He seemed too intense to be the kind of person to laugh. "Well, I'd hate to annoy you." He swept the cap off, leaving a shock of jet-black hair standing on end. "Oh." My mouth fell open. "Oh, what?" His eyes narrowed and I snapped my mouth shut. “Nothing." I took a few breaths, just to make sure I was alive and there was the slimmest chance this was real. "So, am I going to ask the questions or are you going to talk?" He laughed again, and I was sure his body pitched a little bit closer to mine. Violet eyes pinned me in place and I struggled to remember how to swallow. "When you were seven you decided you wanted to climb trees." My body stiffened. "Yes?" "There's a fir tree in your back garden that's easily sixty feet high." "Yes?" "What do you remember about the time you fell?" The violets flickered at me. "It was August and scorching hot, you were wearing red shorts and a yellow T-shirt. You fell through the branches like a pine cone?" I stared up into his face, his skin was dark olive, eyes burning bright. My tongue ran along my lips while my heart made a terrible thudding noise in my chest. "I don't." I whispered. "I woke up and I was on the ground." "I know. I caught you." My body stepped back although his hand darted out and snatched hold of mine. "Bronte, I've been watching you your whole life. I know it sounds weird." His nose scrunched as he contemplated just how weird it sounded. "Why?""Because," he ran a hand through his hair, making it stick up at electrifying angles. “Because you're the last of the star children. The last of the half born."
I rubbed my thigh, which was already aching with that heavy lead sensation that comes from a dead limb, and tried to gain my footing. "Easy there." A hand jutted out and grasped my elbow, stabilising me as I threatened to topple again. "Sorry," I mumbled. My cheeks were glowing a vicious, volcanic, burn. I could live without Eleanor Heavers finding out I'd fallen over not once, but twice on the first day. I knew she would, though. Gossip spread through the school like fire through a parched forest. "You seem to be vertically challenged." The voice was soft, bringing a low bell to mind. My stomach felt all squishy, which was odd when combined with numb legs. My eyes snapped up into the shadowed face of the boy from the picnic bench. His face tilted under the worn peak of his baseball cap. His features obscured in shadows so I couldn’t get a good look at the caps owner. "I am not." I stated. My blatant lie made the burn running along my cheeks intensify until I was uncomfortably hot. He was scrutinising me and I didn't know why. I stood there, while from under the cap, I knew he was evaluating what he saw. I prickled, straightening my shoulders. I didn't exactly march off down the corridor in outrage at his blatant presumptuous scrutiny. I just kind of suspended there while he stared from under the cap. "No?" he asked. His fingers still held my elbow, and I tried to peer closer so I could see him better. It was an impulse I couldn’t ignore and I shifted forward. "You also don't seem to grasp the concept of personal space.” He stepped away, breaking the spell that had pulled me towards him. The burning flush transformed into an all out uncomfortable sweat. "Sorry, I was just. Um, just." What was I doing? "Just, what?" The voice sounded like it might be amused if it could be arsed. "Just trying to see you." The words blurted from my mouth, clanging into the air around me like boulders into a small rain puddle. "Trying to see what?" As he spoke, my bag slipped off my shoulder. It smashed onto the floor with the heavy thud that twenty overdue library books will make. I scrambled to pick up the mess. "You," I said. Glancing up, I looked to see his reaction to my outrageous declaration, but there was nobody there. Just me and an empty hallway and the bell tolling on the wall, telling me I was late for my first class.

Excerpt:
“You should shower and relax. I have emails to answer then I’ll come to bed.” I opened my laptop climbing on my settee watching Julio go into the bathroom.
“Hey, are you still angry with me?” Julio stood glistening with a dew from his shower and a towel wrapped low in his hips.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to think about it anymore if that’s alright with you?” Already finished with work I climbed into bed surprised my body had been pulled to the edge of the bed. Julio pinned me with his weight assaulting me with kisses.
My anger subsided leaving me more with hurt pride than anything else. I didn’t appreciate being treated like a glass princess. I had my childhood memories for that.
“I think you deserve to be punished for your disappearance today. You forget I am strong, confident and most of all, the one in control of my life.” I used my legs to push him off me and sank to the floor pulling a velvet box from under the bed.
“What are you doing? Where did you get that from?’ Julio’s eyes bulged studying the velvet box he immediately recognized.
“I took it from your private suite at The Pyramid. You spend so much time here I’m afraid my scarves and belts won’t be enough. Assume the position and don’t make me ask twice.”
The whole night he moaned from pleasure only I could give him.
“Morning Querida. Can you please free my hands?” Julio looked even sexier with his hands bound and ruffled hair. He’d paid for his deception and took his punishment well or enjoyed it in this case.
I straddled him looking into his beautiful blue eyes catching his smile pull up at the corner of his mouth. I kissed his lips softly lingering just long enough to make him gasp. I worked the knots of the velvet rope around his hands slowly rubbing at his wrists. He grunted the moment they were free and flipped me, pinning me under him. He brushed my hair off my face lightly touching my face with the pads of his fingertips. I bit my lower lip studying this strong gorgeous man above me. I traced my finger across his forehead, down his cheek and across his jaw. We kissed and caressed each other with just as much intimacy as if we’d made love.
“I am late for work and need a shower. Are you staying in?” Julio sat sitting me in his lap.
“I am. I have a lunch date with Natasha and Nicolas. They are meeting his parents for dinner tonight. I’m not sure why I was asked to lunch and I couldn’t say ‘No’ either. I will let you know how it goes. Share the shower?” He scooped me into his arms carrying me to the bathroom.

The Experiment
I read The Experiment to get up to date for the blog tour for Ascendance (Book 2) in the Pyramid of Dommes Series.  The blurb caught my attention and I couldn't wait to start it.
At only 125 pages I had a really hard time getting through it.
The premise was great, the blurb awesome.
I honestly believe with a good edit this would have been a better read for me.  There were characters that had no real reason to be there, circumstances that were expounded on that didn't need it (as far as I can tell-this being only book 1 in a series) and things that I think should have been more important that were seemingly swept away.
I tried really hard to connect with either character and I just couldn't.
Julio came across as a possessive businessman, which he is, but when it comes to the bedroom he seems like a dom, but then turns into a sub enjoying being whipped, flogged, spanked, but then when it comes to the actual sex he turns back into some super dom.
Alyssia's character is all over the place.  There is no real character to her .  She goes from timid and upset to furious and bossy then to I need you to F**k me now... all in the span of 2 sentences.
I really wanted to quit reading...but I just can't bring myself to do that. I always wonder what I may miss.
I felt more connected to Ryan and he was my favorite character in the book...but he had his own issues.
I'm off to start Ascendance because I'm supposed to...hopefully it's a little more put together than The Experiment was.

The Ascendance
Ok. I started Ascendance (fyi it started as chapter 13 instead of 1) and I can't do it.  I was hoping that the writing would have been edited a little more, the run-on sentences would have stopped and perhaps there would have been a little clearer characterization of Alyssia.  I'm going to call it quits...It's the holiday season and my time is really more important than finishing at this point.
