Daphnie 5 Star Review

I sit here writing this with the biggest emotional book handover. This book is an emotional roller coaster from the prologue to the very last page.  Christine Brae's book The Light In The Wound was a beautiful story of love and acceptance. Each character plays an important role in this book creating a beautiful written story.

We begin this beautiful  heartfelt journey in the present with Isabel. She then takes us through her struggles of  live and love, starting with childhood. Isa comes from a wealth family and when her mother is unable to care for her, she would live with her grandparents. Throughout her childhood she was separated from her sisters and would see them on visits home from boarding school.
Isabel meets Jess at a party and they start dating when they are in high school. They are from two different social classes and Jess is very determine to make something of himself. Isa falls hard for Jess, he is the first person that has been their for her. I had a love/hate relationship with Jess and their was times that I was yelling at my kindle, I wanted to beat Jess over the head with it. Over the years of Jess and Isa relationships Jess started to become controlling and started to strip piece of Isa identity away from her. They begin to have an unhealthy love between the two of them.
We have Alex, Oh How I Loved Alex, Team Alex. His sweet, understanding and loves Isabel unconditionally. Alex was always their for her and is crazy in love with her but Isa is blinded by first love.
Love is never easy and, when your first love is involved how do you choose. The Light In The Wound is a story of first love, unhealthy and health love, choices. Who will Isabel choose? This is a must read book.
