This book is book one in a three part series, so not all matters are resolved at the end of the novel. It is also meant for ages 18+ due to yummy adult content ;)

Happily ever after doesn’t exist. Not just in the romantic sense, but in the sense that there will never be a point in life that will contain no more obstacles.

Josie Sommers is a nerdy twenty four year old, elementary school teacher who has always considered herself a strong person. But with the loss of a loved one and the return of someone she vowed to never see again, her strength starts to break.

When he betrayed her in the ultimate way, she never thought she would let him back into her life, let alone open herself up to falling back in love with him.
Plagued with resentment and the burden of her own dishonesty,

Josie has to decide if forgiving and coming clean is worth the risk of losing him again. With so many hurdles, we know that Josie’s story is no fairytale.

That’s a promise.

First off let me reiterate that I never read a reviews. I prefer to go into a book knowing as little as possible about it! That's A Promise was a little difficult for me to get into at first. I'm not a big fan of the back and forth, past to present. It's OK if you want to sneak a chapter in here and there, but almost every other major change in the story had you switching gears. From now to high school to now to college to now...It was a little too much for me because I like a story to be smooth. It's a time for me to sit and relax and not really think. So I had to pay a little more attention than I usually do. After a couple of chapters things pick up ( and I had most of it figured out pretty quickly, especially his big secret and her big secret), but wow once she meets Blake things get steamy~ but Oh with Seth, and the sexy pictures...yummmmm...

"He looked up abruptly when he heard the door swing open and bump the wall with a loud thud. "You Love me!" I breathed out. "You love me, Blake," I said again insistently, holding up the book. "Yes Jo. I still love you. I can't stop," he said. He moved his hand to he back of my head, and gripped some of my hair when he pulled me to his lips....It was intense. It was passionate. It was us.
I closed my eyes and moaned, hoping he would take that as a hint to continue the travel of his hand.  He licked my ear and nibbled on it before he slipped his hand into my jeans.  I let out a whimper as he slid his fingers into my wet folds.  The feel of his hand was so needed and electrifying that I didn't know how long I would last before I came from his touch... "I want you to come on my mouth," he said roughly into my ear, and then picked me up.  His hands caressed my butt and thighs as he worked my pants off of my hot needy body.  His hot wet lips moved over every spot that his hands touched, making me shiver from overwhelming sensations.
He inched towards me,  putting out his arm to stop my legs from coming together.  His fingers traced my swollen clit, making me lose a little consciousness.  He moved his hands to my hips and lifted me up onto the now clean desk.  Spreading my legs wide, he kneeled on the floor.  I leaned back on my hands, and let my long hair cascade down my back.  When his tongue touched me, I nearly convulsed against him immediately.  He sucked my clit into his mouth, and I felt myself reaching and climbing to the peak of desire.

Let me say that I am most definitely Team SETH! So intriguing and such a bad boy in a good way! Did I mention the hot sexy pictures?  I'm really hoping that Josie realizes just how much Seth must love her.  He's constantly putting  up with her crap.  She wants him, she doesn't, she want's Blake, but he doesn't want her, so she runs to Seth...come on already...He LOVES you, he must!
I love the end where Jo decides to take her life back...I choose to live and move on...That's a fucking promise.
I ended up really enjoying the book, getting used to the time changes-still not really caring for it, but that's a personal preference- and by the end, I'm like OH YEAH!  But then I remember it's only book 1 and I'm sure that I will be left hanging!  and I was....GRRR
I really appreciated the information that Victoria included after the story.  Please don't stop reading after the epilogue.  Victoria includes a lot of  resource  information for domestic violence, sexual violence, speaking out against rape.

“You are gorgeous, as always, Josie.” He turned me around and brought his lips to mine. He kissed me slowly, and I could feel myself getting heated. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the bed. I was a little embarrassed when he started undressing us, unable to believe that I agreed to do something so risqué. He position me in a particular way, and went back to his cameras to make sure his shot was right and to set up timers on them.

“Okay, don’t think about the cameras,” he said, coming back to me. He started sucking on my neck as his hands roamed my thighs, stomach, and then my chest. I tried to ignore the cameras and focused on his tongue and mouth on me.

Click. He brought one of my breasts into his mouth and sucked on my hard nipple. His tongue always knew how to make my body feel good. Click. I moved my hands into his shaggy sandy blonde hair, and arched my back, needing more of him. Click. Seth aligned his chest with mine, and went back to assault my neck as I moved my hands to rub his shoulders and arms.  Click. His other hand that wasn’t fondling my breast, moved its way in between my legs, and rubbed me. I gasped at the feeling of increased pressure on my clit. Click. His fingers really were magical. It didn’t take me long before both the pressure of his mouth on my neck and breasts and the rubbing of his fingers against me, made me come. Click.

“So sexy,” he whispered, before putting on the condom he had ready on the bed.

His eyes were hooded with desire. He positioned himself in front of me and moved my long hair in a way that covered my breasts. Click. He eased inside of me gently, and then pulled back out fast. Click. He teased me like that for a while, as I whimpered with need. I decided to sit up and grab onto his back, nearly clawing him to finally give me what I needed. I started to raise my hips to his at a better rhythm, loving the small whimper that came out of his mouth. Click.
