Synopsis

How can you continue living when you’re living a lie? How can you convince your body to stop feeling, your soul to stop caring, and your heart to stop beating? Haunted by her past, Olivia Adler flees Boston for a beach in Florida, leaving everyone behind, trying to shut the world out. Remaining a relative recluse in her self-imposed prison, she tries to turn everything off, wanting to feel nothing. But a new acquaintance won’t let that happen. After being away from Alexander for a month, his voice constantly ringing in her head, reminding her that her inability to confront her demons will not only destroy her, but also him, can she really be expected to want to feel again when it brings nothing but pain? Back in Boston, everywhere he turns, Alexander Burnham is reminded of Olivia… His Olivia… He tries to dull the ache left in his heart the only way he knows how… in the bed of a beautiful woman. But Alexander isn’t about to lose his Olivia. After a clue comes to light regarding Olivia’s whereabouts, can he convince her to return to Boston with him? When a force that has laid dormant for months resurfaces, can Alexander still protect her from the unknown danger? And when Alexander comes face to face with a shadow of both his and Olivia’s past, will he be able to tell her the secret that is threatening to tear them apart? A Tragic Wreck is the continuation of T.K. Leigh’s heart-breakingBeautiful Mess series.

Rachel's 5 Star Review~

TK Leigh nailed it AGAIN!!!
This was the BEST book I've read this year! If you haven't read A Beautiful Mess please read that first, as A Tragic Wreck starts at that cliffhanger that ABM left us with. That said, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I devoured it! I read through my ARC copy so fast! If you are an emotional reader or as invested in Olivia and Alexander as I am, you better grab a box of Kleenex!
A Beautiful Mess ends with Olivia running again....A Tragic Wreck introduces us to Cam, a fun-loving surfer who passes by Olivia's place every morning and finally gets up the nerve to talk.

She looked up into Cam's eyes. "Tell me what you want, Libby," he growled, reminding her so much of Alexander. Except he wasn't nearly as forceful.
He felt her body from her neck to her chest, her legs to her ass, and everything in between. Olivia panted. "I want to feel anything other than the pain, Cam. I want to feel something."

I can't say too much as there is just SO much to give away...I can tell you that I LOVED A Beautiful Mess and A Tragic Wreck blew it right out of the water.  I cried and cried, and I really wanted to just quit reading at one point and throw my kindle into the fireplace.  But, I persevered, and Damn, if it wasn't my favorite book of the year.  TK's writing just keeps getting better and better. The drama and angst is unbelievable..I can't wait to see what happens in Book 3...A Gorgeous Chaos...Oh Please TK, hurry and release that book!  I NEED to know what happens with Alexander and Olivia, Simon, Cam, all of them...Please
Did I mention that Alexander is engaged? Oh yes...
Could this be then end of Olivia and Alex for good? Will Cam take Alex's place in Olivia's heart while someone else takes Olivia's place in Alexander's? Can Olivia handle it? You'll have to read it for yourself. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

 Excerpt

“Libby, wait!” Cam cried, running down the stairs and into the kitchen. He watched as Olivia opened a semi-full bottle of whiskey and drank straight from it. “What are you doing?”

She took a breath before throwing the bottle back, drinking more. “What does it look like?! This is the only thing that takes those fucking dreams away, Cam!” she cried out, her hands shaking. “How the fuck would you feel if, every night, you watch your parents die?! EVERY! FUCKING! NIGHT!” Her cries became more and more desperate with each breath. “And then you see the person who saved you and you don’t know who the fuck it is, but you know that you should! I don’t know how much longer I can do this,” she moaned, sinking down to the kitchen floor, clutching the bottle in her hand as if her life depended on it.

Cam lowered himself to the ground and sat next to her. He leaned against the cabinets and watched with sympathy as she threw back the bottle once more, taking another long drag. He said quietly, “You know, there are pills that you can try if you don’t want those dreams anymore.”

She shook her head vehemently, her sobs heavy. “No. I’m not going to use chemicals.
My doctor already gave me valium, which I refuse to take, to help with the panic attacks.”

He raised his eyebrows. “So, then, what’s the deal with that whiskey bottle you’re holding?”

“Fuck you,” she spat out, glaring at him.

Cam sighed, placing his arm around her shoulders, trying to comfort her. “Sorry, Libby. I just hate to see you upset. Tell me what I can do and I’ll do it.”

Olivia took another swig of the bottle. “Nothing, Cam. There is nothing you can do. There is nothing anyone can do. This is my fucking life. I destroy people so you should stay far away from me because I’ll just destroy you, too.” She stood up and threw the now empty whiskey bottle into the garbage before walking over to the window, staring out into the dark ocean. She noticed a black SUV parked a few hundred yards down the sandy road. Her heart fell as she stumbled over to the couch, falling flat on her stomach. She was emotionally drained. She wanted to shut it all off. Why did he have to come to her island and find her?

“Easy, Libby.” Cam scurried off the kitchen floor and into the living room, kneeling down next to the couch.

When she’s not planted in front of her computer, writing away, she can be found running and training for her next marathon (of which she has run over fifteen fulls and far too many halfs to recall). Unlike Olivia, the main character in her Beautiful Mess series, she has yet to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
