Blog Tour: ON MY KNEES by Meredith Wild

Book: On My Knees
Author: Meredith Wild
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Haunted by the responsibility of caring for her troubled family, Maya Jacobs gave the only answer she could when Cameron asked her to marry him.  Years later, entrenched in a soulless professional routine, she distracts herself from the lingering regret of her decision with a “work hard, play hard” lifestyle that guarantees no man will ever find his way into her heart again.
Cameron Bridge has spent the past five years married to the military, trying to escape the painful memory of losing Maya. After fighting his own war in the desert, he starts a new life in New York City, with his siblings, Olivia and Darren, by his side.
When fate brings Maya back to him in the heart of a city filled with its own hopes and shadows, can Cameron find the girl he once loved in the woman she’s become?

Rachel's 4.5 Star Review~

This was the first book I've read by Meredith Wild, but it won't be the last.
Maya and Cameron had what most people only dream of finding...problem is Maya is still in school and Cam is in the military...home on leave and he proposes and Maya turns him down...he doesn't know the secrets she's hiding, and she can't face telling him.
Ms. Wild has a wonderful knack for characterization.  I can picture Cameron and Maya both, and yeah, I'm kinda jealous of a fictional character!  Cam is top shelf BBF material, of  that there is NO doubt.  And man, can she write.
~ She sighed softly, melting into me the way she had so many times before.  Her scent filled my lungs, a potent rush of memories with it.
I wanted to taste her.
I caught her hair and angled above her, opening her to me.  Our tongues met, tentatively through her body, urging me to seek more of her mouth.  She was so fucking sweet.  Her hands fisted into  my coat, never moving while mine roamed restlessly through her hair and along the soft lines of her face, down the front of her chest.
"Maya..." Her name left me between breaths, momentarily clouding the years that had come between us, as if no time had passed.  The dream of us of who we'd once been, was suddenly real again.

There is a lot of emotional attachment, but the nice thing is, I don't recall Maya being really wishy-washy..I mean, she's careful, as is Cameron, as neither wants to be torn to shreds again, but even after reading, looking back, I don't feel the need to smack Maya in the head.  That's a good thing.
I would recommend this book to anyone...and matter of fact, I already have.  It was excellent!  A great read with your next book boyfriend to spend the weekend with.  Now please excuse me while I head over to Amazon and 1click some of Ms. Wilds other novels!
