After reading about the blurb of this book, I had to read more about it. I knew it was one of those books you couldn't pass up. I am a fan of Sloan Johnson and loved her Isthumus Alliiance series and I just new I would love this second chance at love story.
Melaine is face with working in the home she once lived in with her first love caring for his dying wife. She has put the last six years behind her, and devoted her time to her job and patients. Mel is a nurse and devotes her time to terminal-ill. Who new years later they would meet again, and it would be Mel taking care of Xavier dying wife Alyssa.
I am not sure how Melanie was able to work in that home, put her pride behind her and do her job. I know she want to hate Alyssa, but by they end you fall in love with her. She's funny and she just trying to hold it all together for her son and her husband.

And Xavier with two woman who at one point in his life he loved. He was a different man when he was in love with Mel since then he has grown he no longer practices BDSM. Now he is a father and he is in love with his wife and son. They are his priority. They son Jacob had me in tears, him and blaze pulled at my heart.

I enjoyed this book and I felt connected to all the characters. There were was no big surprise and everything was pretty predicable. Which was not a bad thing, I would have like a bit of a surprise. This was an emotional, gut wrenching, Sloan Johnson get you all way up to the top of the roller coaster and when the tears are flowing that's when you coming crashing down.
Sloan is a Midwestern mom who began writing nearly seven years ago as a way to make money while staying home with her daughter. Now, with two kids in tow and having written more articles on how to assemble various pieces of furniture than she can count, she is reaching to make her dreams come true.
