Review: Running Wild by SE Jakes

Embrace the danger.

Sean Rush is an adrenaline junkie. That’s why he was in the Army, why he steals and races classic muscle cars . . . and why he can’t stay away from bad boy Ryker, a Havoc Motorcycle Club lieutenant. Fortunately, Ryker can’t seem to stay away from Sean—he’s spent the last eight months breaking into Sean’s apartment and stealing into his bed, leaving Sean physically satisfied but increasingly restless.

Sean has always avoided relationships. He likes to come and go without being controlled. And Ryker is possibly the most controlling man he’s ever known. Still, he finds that he wants more from Ryker than their silent nighttime encounters.

Then one of Sean’s thefts goes bad, and Ryker’s protective instincts kick into overdrive. He takes Sean to the Havoc compound, determined to keep him safe. But Sean’s past threatens the safety of Havoc—and everything Ryker holds dear. Worse, Ryker’s hiding secrets of his own. Soon it’s obvious that the adrenaline rush can’t keep them together anymore. But maybe love can.

This is the first book I’ve read by SE Jake, but it sure won’t be the last. I love biker and M/M romance and she manage to bring them together and created and fast pace, heart stopping story.  I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this story made and lasting impression on me and I can’t wait to read the rest of the Hovac series.
Noah is a longtime friend of Sean’s, they met each other in juvenile hall as young teenagers and ended up in the military, both serving in Iraq. Noah cares, but can’t seem to stay away from trouble and always manages bring Sean alone. No, sorry Sean always seem to volunteer, doing his best to protect Noah.  He’s painted as someone who maybe has shifting loyalties but he’s a true and loyal friend always had been.
Sean aka Rush think he has control of his life. He works alone as a mechanic by day and a muscle car thief by night he has no rules and answers to no one. Until Ryker storms into his life, turns it upside down.  Sean question everything he every thought was right. Sean joined the military when he was still a teenager in an attempt to escape life and his father who is serving a life sentence for murder. While he was in Iraq he lost a friend Billy. He find himself spiraling out of control and in need of Rykers help to put himself back together.

Ryker, tattooed bad ass, and a longtime member of the MC club Havoc, has been watching Sean Rush for years. It started as a job of keeping watch on the competition, but something about Sean keeps him coming back.  Rush would break into Sean’s house and screws him then leave to Sean wakes up alone. The only evidence of the wild nights of passion would be a sore ass and that single red rose that Ryker always leaves behind. Ryker never thought he would want to put Rush under the protection of Havoc, or  consider Sean to be his.

I absolutely loved this story. Two extreme alpha males learning how to navigate the rough waters of love with fast cars and motorcycles. There are twists and turns along the way as well, a few breath taking moments and a lot of HOT and AMAZING sex. Surely a must read. I gave this book a five star because Rush and Ryker are to hot for word
