Synopsis:
From USA Today Bestselling Author J.C. Valentine comes a sizzling story about a young entrepreneur, a hot firefighter, and a first date that will change their paths forever.
Tenacious bakery shop owner Abby is following her dreams. She has everything she could ever want in life—except the fairytale ending. Then she meets Kennedy, a hunky firefighter whose killer smile and easy charm makes her heart pound. But with the kind of danger he faces on the job each day, Abby knows there’s no happily-ever-after in the cards. The harder she tries to hold onto her heart, the faster it seems to slip away, but when a series of mysterious events threaten the future of her business and her life, their happiness may be shorter-lived than she realized.
Someone is out to get her, and it’s up to Abby and Kennedy to uncover who’s behind the destruction. Can they do it before tragedy strikes?
So I don't know anyone that actually enjoys being set up on dates. Although the offending family member or friend means well, the person they set you up with is rarely your type and more often than not, there's virtually no attraction. For Abby, new business owner, this has never been more true. She's been throwing herself into her new bakery, attending dinner at her sister's house where there's always another guest. Another set up. None of the men have caught her eye or attention. That is, until Kennedy comes to dinner
Alright, I know I adore firemen! Hot, attentive, protective, firemen. That's pretty much Kennedy to a T! Abby and Kennedy's chemistry is off the charts. He's sweet, funny and charming. She's funny, independent and feisty. When strange things start happening to her bakery and her apartment is broken into, Kennedy flies into protective mode, but it's not portrayed as domineering and overly assertive, which I appreciated. I've always like J.C.'s writing style and Sweetest Temptations is another reason why. This is a great 4 star book!
