Gwendolyn Grace writes such a great story. Her writing is sooo smooth and seemingly effortless and the editing is so well done that everything flows so well it's easy to get lost inside the story. The characters are easily likeable, most everything is rather believable and as you read it's so easy to "see". It's not over the top of drama, it's not all about the sex, it's a good ole romance, plain and simple. It didn't make me want to throw my kindle, it made me want to snuggle up and keep reading, I swear I read for 3 hours straight and it felt like I had just sat down to read.
We come to know Mack King, THE Carolina King of racing, and why he is the way he is. What makes him tick. Cuz if you'll remember, in Carolina Hurricane, Book 1 of the series, he kinda comes off of a bit of a douche at first. Granted, I think we were supposed to think that so he could be a surprise in this book. And what a pleasant surprise to see his beautiful personality.
Jonna must have never learned that you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar, cuz for the most part, she's kind of a spoiled rotten little snot. It's all about her and what she wants and how she's gonna get it. She finally sees that things take work. That you're not always gonna be happy, and things aren't always gonna be easy, and that she's gonna have to give a little to get a lot with Mack. That he does what's best for her whether she likes it or not.
This was a really good second book in a series that's had me enthralled from the start.
Can't wait for book 3! And so glad that I've found a new #1click author!
