This book right here, Never Tear Us Apart, is a perfect example of amazing writing. A book I read without knowing a lick of what it was about, not bothering to read the synopsis or a blurb...nothing...I signed up only because I've enjoyed this authors previous works.
The characters are amazing...Katie, 8 years after being abducted, has finally decided that she's tired of letting her abductor, her past, win. She's taking her life by storm...trying to overcome her fears, tired of living life in the shadows, unhappy.
~I'm none of those things. Confident. Strong. Carefree. Those words belong to the old me. Once innocence is lost, you can never get it back.
~My past follows me, leeches itself upon me like a shackle and chains. Like the very chain Aaron William Monroe wrapped around my ankle so he could keep me hooked to the wall like some sort of animal. That's my past. Attached to me so tightly I can never, ever let it go.
Ethan, 8 years later and he's still wondering what happened to Katie. Why she left him high and dry. No letters, no calls, nothing, when all he wanted was to be her protector...her guardian angel.
This book is all about the writing...the feelings Monica Murphy evokes within your heart and soul. This isn't about sex. This isn't a billionaire love story. It's a tale of a girl, the one boy who meant everything to her, the man he becomes and how they fight to live a semblance of a normal life.
Freaking amazing. And please don't make me wait until May!
