The Sinful Scot was my first read by Maddison Michaels. It's a standalone in a series of standalones that all tie in together with each other.
Alec saves Connie and soon they're both being chased. When they let down their guard,  their banter is funny and risque. The story itself doesn't have much steam, it's just mostly alluded to.
The blurb really sounded great, but to me the story just didn't hold up.. It took me a couple of chapters to get a start as there seemed to be just so much going on that I didn't know where she was taking the story. Once it settled in and I could see where it was going I enjoyed it a little more.  The best part was that bit of a twist at the end! So while this wasn't my fave, it wasn't bad either. Never know how you're going to like it until you try. I'm going right down the middle of the road with this one at

About Kathryn Denman:
After a difficult pregnancy that put her on bed rest, she began to dream about writing her own romance novel after reading through most of the books in Texas. It was a rough couple of months, and she's a fast reader. But after she had her son, writing took a backseat to nap time and Disney. (Who doesn't love Moana?!)
Once her family settled into a routine, she finally had time to write her passion. Her first novel is a Military Romantic Suspense that focuses on Air Force Pararescuemen. She grew up watching her grandfather and uncle in the Air Force, and the Pararescuemen are the cream of the crop ladies and gents. Elite, special ops soldiers, with kick ass bodies? It was impossible to stop writing about them. One book has turned into three, with plans for more in the near future. She lives with her little family in South Texas. When not writing she likes to spend time by the beach fishing and playing in the water. She also enjoys baking, dancing, and BINGO!

Release Blast: Confessions of a Naughty Nanny by Piper Rayne

When a famous music producer moves to Lake Starlight it can’t just be a coincidence. It’s the universe helping to move things along in the right direction so that Griffin Thorne can discover me.

I have to confess—I’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Confession #1: I may have overhead that he was in search of a nanny. What can I say? My brother has a big mouth.

Confession #2: It’s possible I helped along the assumption that I had nanny experience. Hey, babysitting my nieces and nephew counts, right?

Confession #3: There’s a good chance I oversold my qualifications. But my Grandma Dori backed me up, so it’s not completely my fault.

And it worked. He hired me. Only for me to find out that he left the business.

I guess it’s on to Plan B.

When he accidentally overhears me singing, I expect nothing from him. Then he asks to work with me on a song for our town’s Founder’s Day Parade and it feels like a dream come true. Until...

Confession #4: I’ve fallen for him.

Confessions of a Naughty Nanny...as readers we have encountered Phoenix in the stories of all of the previous Bailey's and personally we may not have loved her, her decisions or her attitude on life.  As one of the twins she always appeared to have a chip on her shoulder and I wondered why (aside from the obvious which is losing her parents so young).   There is so much more to Phoenix then I ever realized and we see first hand, who she truly is behind the exterior that she allows the people of Lake Starlight to see and I loved her character as much as all of the other Bailey siblings!

Anyone who reads Piper Rayne's books knows the drill, no spoilers in the reviews, which I love by the way because each reader needs to experience the story fresh without preconceived notions about how it will go or how it will end.  You will get to see all of your favorites in this book, you will laugh, you will shed a tear and you will love Phoenix and Griffin by the end of this story!  I cannot wait for the next one.

Title: So That Got Weird

Author: Amelia Kingston

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About So That Got Weird:

A painfully awkward love story. Incomprehensibly awkward Elizabeth Wilde is desperate for love. Connection. Intimacy. After a lifetime of romantic failures, the twenty-one-year-old gamer realizes she needs help. Professional help. She needs… A sex tutor. The devastatingly hot jock Austin Jacobs is just the man for the job. As the reigning campus sex god, he has the playboy act down pat. But underneath those six-pack abs beats a broken heart. He doesn’t trust people and he sure as hell doesn’t believe in love. The odd couple strike a deal. Four weeks of ‘tutoring’ for five thousand dollars. When Austin coaxes Elizabeth out from behind her computer screen, the attraction they feel is undeniable. They’re both a little broken, but somehow their jagged edges fit. And when their world comes tumbling down on top of them, they each have to decide if this weird thing called love is worth fighting for.

This book was a fun and easy read with an interesting story line that was similar yet different to other shy girl/jock guy story lines that I have read.  I enjoyed that Elizabeth was a gamer, immersed in a world that many inhabit but few really understand.  In wanting to be "normal" and "sexy" she looks for a tutor that can help her.  And she chooses jock extraordinaire Austin.  Austin needs the money and agrees to Elizabeth's hair brained scheme equip with a syllabus for how he should work through the bases to the home-run at the end.  Austin is your typical jock, that the reader has seen in so many other books, but how he approaches his time with Amelia and the friendship that they form that begins to mean something more to both of them.  I loved Elizabeth's character and how she slowly began believing what Austin said all along, that she was attractive and sexy and she just needed the confidence to own it.

About Amelia Kingston:

Amelia Kingston is many things, the most interesting of which are probably California girl, writer, traveler, and dog mom. She survives on chocolate, coffee, wine, and sarcasm. Not necessarily in that order.   She’s been blessed with a patient husband who’s embraced her nomad ways and traveled with her to over 30 countries across 5 continents (I’m coming for you next, Antarctica!). She’s also been cursed with an impatient (although admittedly adorable) terrier who pouts when her dinner is 5 minutes late.   She writes about strong, stubborn, flawed women and the men who can't help but love them. Her irreverent books aim to be silly and fun with the occasional storm cloud to remind us to appreciate the sunny days. As a hopeless romantic, her favorite stories are the ones that remind us all that while love is rarely perfect, it’s always worth chasing.
