Rising Democratic star Caroline Gerard is reluctant to fall in love again after losing her husband. Can Republican playboy Jack McIntyre break through her grief and capture her heart? Told mostly in flashback and set against a chilling fascist backdrop, Dissident is a rollercoaster ride of political intrigue, passionate romance, and undying love.

Caroline faces the biggest challenge of her life when confronted with the cruelty and sadism of her captors at The Fed. Hope fades quickly, even as she holds onto her one last bit of sanity and her unshakable belief that her husband will rescue her. But is that faith just a mirage?

Reeling from her experiences at The Fed, Caroline tries to forge ahead and create a new identity. But that’s hard to do with the ghosts of the past constantly whispering in her ear. She is determined to find the rebellion and move on with her life, but what will she find when she arrives there?

When they reached the ballroom he locked the door behind him. Jack walked over to one of the decorative side tables and produced a box wrapped with red paper.
“Merry Christmas,” he said, handing it to her.
“Why didn’t you give this to me earlier?”
“I needed us to be in private when I gave it to you. Open it.”
It had to be jewelry. “I told you not to get me anything outlandish.”
“I don’t have to listen to you. Even if we are married.”
Caroline ripped the paper away. She opened the box and was greeted with an exquisite emerald necklace. Fringe design, with each individual green stone framed by tiny sparkling diamonds. The necklace was dripping with jewels from end to end. It looked like a prop from an eighties soap opera except it was stunningly, gorgeously real. She wouldn’t even want to speculate about the cost. “Jack-”
“Do you like it?” he asked.
She was convinced he only gave her presents just to gauge her reaction. To see how long she’d gawk at them before starting to gush. Caroline wasn’t refined when it came to her spontaneous responses to him. Did she like the necklace? A rather silly question since it was one of the most amazing things she’d ever seen.
“It’s beautiful,” she whispered.
He took the box from her. “I didn’t recall seeing you with anything other than sapphires or diamonds. We’re going to have to do something about that.”
She could only imagine the media attention they’d get if she paraded around wearing a necklace that cost more than what the average household made in a year, several times over. Sometimes her husband forgot that he was running for governor, not auditioning for the cast of Falcon Crest. “It’s too much, Jack. It’s so…elaborate. I can’t wear that in public.”
He smiled. “Then don’t. Wear it just for me.”
“Just around the house? Like, when I’m watching baseball and stuff?”
He laughed. “‘And stuff’?”
Her language was less polished than usual. “I’ve had a ton to drink today. I can’t always be articulate.”
Jack pulled her to him, leaning toward her ear. “How about you wear the necklace and nothing else, and grant your husband a dance?”
Now she saw where he was going. “A nice Christmas waltz?” Caroline suggested. “Fully clothed, of course. We must always be proper.”
He tugged at her sweater. “Try again.”
His romantic and seductive gestures were sweet, but impractical. “It’s cold in here.”
“I’ll turn the heat up.”
“What about you?”
“We don’t need to worry about me.”
Caroline sighed. “I meant your clothes.”
He unbuttoned her pants. “They’re staying on.”
That seemed unfair. “I’m not sure I like this power differential.”
Jack ran a finger under the waistband of her panties. “I think you do,” he whispered.
She shivered when he pulled her pants and underwear down. “Will there be music? Or are you going to parade my naked self around the ballroom in silence?”
“I picked a special song for the two of us.” He grinned. “And you won’t be naked. You’ll be wearing the necklace.”
She ran her hands down the front of his shirt, imagining how it would feel for her bare chest to rub against it while they danced. “You will undress at some point, right?”
He kissed her again. “Upstairs. Let me do this,” he said softly, stripping off the rest of her clothes, even her bra and panties. He laughed when he reached her socks. “Are those dinosaurs?”
Caroline liked wearing fun socks. She didn’t care if they were juvenile. She’d get away with it for as long as she could. “They’re wearing little Santa hats.”
Though he’d started to yank them down, he hastily pulled them back up to below her knees. “These can stay on. But only because they make you look so damn adorable.”
She tried not to think of what she’d look like wearing nothing but whimsical dinosaur knee socks and an emerald necklace, but the expression on his face indicated that Jack didn’t particularly care. He kissed her deeply before retrieving the necklace. He took his time placing it around her neck, then stepped back to look at her. It took all her effort not to blush. She hadn’t anticipated the night ending this way.
Jack tipped her chin up. “You look fucking marvelous.”
Her face had to be as red as a cherry. “Even with the socks?”
He brushed a stray hair out of her face. “There are few things sexier than a woman wearing an emerald necklace and dinosaur socks…and nothing else.”

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Unspoken Words by HP Davenport

(The Unspoken Love Series, Book #1)

Two lives…as close to perfect as they can be.

Camryn Townsend has everything she’s always dreamed of…an amazing family, supportive friends, and the perfect job. Everything a girl could want. Or is it? A trip back to her childhood home threatens to unravel her web of perfection.

Her problem…she’s in love with her best friend and she’s too scared to sacrifice their friendship for a love she’s always wanted.

Jamie Banks’ life is the epitome of perfection. His company is thriving, his band is on the cusp of stardom, and the girl he loves is returning home.

His problem…the girl he loves has been his best friend for as long as he can remember and he’s not sure he’s ready to sacrifice his best friend for a lover. Pursuing a relationship with the possibility of losing her has him second-guessing everything he knows.

Unspoken words are the only thing standing in their way.

“Yo, you like what you’re seeing? The girls sure have formed a fan club out there,” Christian yells across the table. He is being such a ball breaker today. What the fuck? Do I have ‘I’m in love with your sister’ written on my fucking forehead?

“You gonna let those guys try and make a move on the girls, or are you going show them what you got?” he continues with a raised eyebrow challenging me.

Sitting here at the table watching the girls dance is killing me. My fists are clenching under the table as I notice guys approaching the girls. The girls aren’t paying them any mind until one dude walks up behind Camryn. He stands there, eyeing her up like she’s a freaking piece of candy. He hasn’t touched her yet, but the idea of him being that close to her has my blood boiling. My jaw begins to clench, and my body tenses. I look over at Christian, and he has this shit eating grin on his face.

Not being able to stand it anymore, I grab my beer and take a long swig. It’s nearly empty, so I motion to Lincoln to order me another one then I head to the dance floor. Camryn’s back is toward me so she doesn’t see me approaching, but Morgan does and she has a huge smile on her face.

Rachel's Review~
I was totally super lucky enough to be able to beta read QUINN for Jc Cliff.

Pregnant mafia princess, Alexis Moretti is on the run for murder. Surrounded by danger at every turn she has one hope of returning unharmed and clearing her name.

Quinn and his faithful girl Kimber owe the mob. To clear his debt he needs to find Moretti's daughter and make sure she's ok. Simple, right? Not when she's hiding somewhere along the Appalachian Trail.

Quinn, the epitome of the love em and leave em billy badass, can't get over how perfectly he and Alexis mesh. Not willing to give in, give up, or get over it Quinn takes Alexis through a labyrinth of trails, feelings and experiences. Can he help Alexis defeat her foes while keeping his heart intact?

-not intimidated or discouraged by difficulty, danger, or disappointment.

This definition fits Quinn like it was made up with him in mind. Throughout this story he takes Alexis along a journey of self awareness...not just her, but himself also. He absorbs the goodness that is Alexis into his bones, his head and his heart. She knows he's put her on a pedestal that she can't possibly balance on, but he fails to see that she just can't live up to his high she bolts...even after everything he's saved her from, everything he and Kimber have come to mean to her, she just can't take him down with her and she knows that Vincent just won't let her go.
I laughed, I got pissed...uhm, it got nice n steamy too...I won't tell you what I did when I got to that part though, and I cried...oh did I cry...oh Kimber..
Quinn and Alexis heat up like your grill on high..and they burn everyone around them..
Quinn was one of my faves from the Blyss Trilogy, even though he didn't have a big just knew...
With a super storyline and great characters this was a 5 STAR READ for sure.
Can't wait to see what else the Undaunted Series will have in store for us.

“It’s actually pretty good. Tastes like chicken.” She shrugs her shoulders as if eating rattlesnake is an everyday occurrence. I look at her with pride, then turn to make myself a plate. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a flash of movement, and then out of nowhere, Kimber leaps up and scurries off. I turn around and watch with curiosity as she runs to a spot about five feet behind Lexi, sniffing the ground. My mouth gapes open. I can’t believe what I think I just saw happen before my eyes. “Am I seeing things?” I question in a high-pitched voice, waving my spatula around. “I know you did not just spit that bite of meat out in your hand, and then chuck it over your shoulder.” I point my spatula at her accusingly with a raised brow. “I know you did not just do that.” She has guilt written all over her face, her lips forming a thin line, and then she gets all squirmy. When she doesn’t answer me, I call her out. “You really enjoyed that, did you?” I grab another piece of meat and then lean toward her. I slowly trace the fire-roasted meat over her lips, encouraging her, “Second one tastes even better.” Her lips are tightly pressed closed as she shrinks away from me. “What's wrong, my little Yankee angel? Don’t go bashful on me now; there’s plenty to go around.” “Quiiinn,” she drawls out my name on a whine. “Yeesss?” I mimic her, the deep baritone of my voice questioning her. “All right, all right, I’m sorry,” she confesses, exasperation lining her voice. “I was just trying to impress you, and in my defense, I chewed it as long as possible. It tasted like chicken chewing gum,” she declares, making a face as she crinkles her nose. Internally, I’m bursting with laughter as she makes excuses. “And the more I chewed, the more I thought about what I was chewing, and it just wouldn’t break down in my mouth.” My shoulders start to shake, and I can’t school my features any longer. She swats at my chest, and I grab her wrist, pulling her into me as I break out with deep laughter. “Now, was the truth so hard to tell?” “Don’t I at least get credit for trying it?” She then pouts, displaying her doe eyes of innocence. “It’s only when you swallow that you get credit for being a real woman,” I tease.

I let go of her cheek and watch my index finger slowly trail a path down the length of her lithe neck. I pause when I feel her pulse; it's beating wildly through her veins. When her breath hitches, my eyes flick back to hers, and then I grow bold, my voice turning raspy, “I want to kiss you all over, and taste you from your lips to your silky sex.” I’ve lost all resolve as I lean forward and whisper over her mouth, “Would you like that, Angel?” I seal my mouth over hers, and she opens up to me, allowing me to slip my tongue inside her warmth. I groan when she runs her tongue over mine in a firm stroke of seduction. Slowly, my fingers graze down toward her breast, her overheated skin burning my fingertips. She arches her back, pushing that luscious tit into my hand. I squeeze around her fullness wishing she was naked for me. “I’ve been dying to kiss you like this all day,” I huskily whisper between passionate kisses.
