I love how Clarissa Wild has a revolving story within all of these books. It started with Stalker, Killer, Twenty One, Ultimate Sin...they all revolve around that same group of no goods. The Company...The Tribunal... it's not necessarily the MAIN part of the storyline, but in some instances just the subplot running through. You find out who the characters work for, how they came to be...and it never fails..the tribunal (or The Company) is somehow involved. So even though the stories aren't a must-read-in-order series, they are linked...and I LOVE it!
This was almost an erotic spin on the fairy tale..The Beauty and The Beast. While Alexis is definitely the beauty and the scarred Viktor being the beast. And what a beast he is. The characters are once again so different from her others, while the storyline ebbs and flows with the fairy tale, mixed with an erotic element, and the suspense of waiting to see what happens once Viktor discovers the tattoo and Lexi finds out what it means.
My only complaint on this one was that the writing wasn't as smooth and flowing as her last group of books..it reminded me more of the Fierce series in that aspect.
But the storyline, the revolving way the Tribunal keeps making appearances, the "whole" of the book was really good. A pageturner for sure.
