Synopsis:
Event planner Joanna McNamee is scrambling to ensure her father’s company Christmas party goes smoothly, but one disaster after another has her convinced someone is trying to sabotage her career. With the help of a man from her past who she’s still not sure she can trust, she puts the pieces together and realizes her business is the least of her problems—a cold-blooded killer is out to destroy her father and take her as his prized possession. The last thing Deputy Ryker Kane expects is for a simple truck hijacking to throw him back into the middle of the Black Widow case he’d been forced to abandon, not to mention right into the arms of the sweet woman he’d let walk away ten years earlier. When he finds Jo Jo kidnapped and drugged, he has to use all his wits and skills honed from years as a detective to save them both. Despite the secrets between them, Ryker’s bound and determined to give them a second chance at love.

This is the first book I read from Melissa Ohnoukta. The synopsis caught my attention, hot cop, mysterious happening and "old friends" having to work together to solve the problem.

Trying to prove a point to her father, event planner Joanna McNamee has to organized the most amazing christmas party her father has ever had. The only problem is that her father only expert her to fall and has a back up planner in hand.

Jojo was an interesting character, she was nice and she cared about her friends and employees and the approval from her father. But overall she seemed a little dumb, she just lack some common sense in some situations.

Ryker oh Hot Cop Ryker, he was sweet and helpful and passionate and you just loved everything about hime. His first encounter with JoJo was back in college and when they meet again she doesn't remember him or does she.

The suspense in the book and keeps you on the edge of your seat. All though you knew who the villain in the book was Ohnoukta through some twist in turns in the book. This was a quick suspenseful read and I enjoyed it. There was times that I got a little un-interested in the middle but it picked back up in the end. This was a entertaining read.
