I used to be naïve.
I used to think monsters didn’t exist.
I used to think I was safe, untouchable, and free from harm.
Boy was I wrong...
My name is Whitney, and I used to think my old life was mediocre and boring. I thought I was missing out on something exciting. Now that Linc has shown me how dark and twisted life can be, I’d go back in a heartbeat...
This is book 1 in an upcoming 3 book dark erotic standalone series!

This was my first read by Niquel.  I was intrigued by the blurb I read in a facebook post. I love a good dark read.
This was dark.  The characters were intriguing. I thought there was a lot of potential. Unfortunately for me, I prefer my stories to be fluid and flowing, more like a movie running through my head.  I thought this one was a bit jumpy, and seemed more like a recitation of past events.
Two big positives...
I loved the ending. I'm that girl..I don't believe every story has to have an HEA.
And secondly, I finished it. I've had the problem of NOT wanting to read lately.  So for that reason alone, I was tickled.
I feel there is a lot of potential for this author, especially if she can find some fluidity.
The story was pretty short.  If you have a problem with kidnapping and non consensual sex, or stockholm type syndrome, I suggest you move on and NOT consider this one.
