The Edge of Forever by J. Saman is a story about lost chances, second chances, family and love. Aria has known Wes for her entire life, and has had a crush on him just as long...he was her brother's best friend. There was a time when she was a teenager that she thought he felt the same way about her but his actions and his leaving told her a different story. Aria has moved on to the life she dreamed of on the roof her her childhood home while gazing at the stars, she is an artist who is selling her work. Wes has grown up to live his dream, to be a doctor, not the professional football player that his father demanded that he be. When Wes walks into the room of one of his patients and sees Aria sitting by his bedside, he can't believe that he may have his second chance with the girl that never really left his mind.
Aria's best friend, who happens to be gay, was attacked outside of a restaurant after leaving dinner with his boyfriend. While he is unconscious and recovering Aria will not leave the side of the person who has been by her side through thick and thin and to her is family. Needing to know what happened to her friend, Aria begins to think of who could have done such a horrible thing, but the truth is farther than anything she could have imagined.
While her bestie recovers, Aria and Wes rekindle a friendship that becomes so much more, mostly due to unresolved feelings. And together, they can face anything, even the future which is always uncertain.
While I enjoyed this story, I didn't love the way I felt rushed with the reveal of who attacked Josh. The build-up was incredible and I couldn't wait to find out what happened, because I had a feeling it would be something major but it was revealed and solved so quickly you could have missed it.
