Yes, she was calculating and manipulative, and she was very spoiled about getting her way, but that was all surface. She was an onion. There were layers and layers underneath, parts of her that she held away. Parts she showed no one. For whatever reason, I’d caught sight of what she kept hidden, whether she’d meant for that to happen or not, I couldn’t be sure. Regardless, I was captivated. There was so much to see there, so much to take down. So much of her to know and own and destroy and redesign, and like an old habit, I couldn’t break away.
She was an addiction, and I wanted to feed on it. She wasn’t supposed to be like that.
She wasn’t supposed to want to bend to my whims. She wasn’t supposed to open up and give what I asked for. She wasn’t supposed to be so eager to take what I gave her. She certainly wasn’t supposed to see past my own curtain, wasn’t supposed to ask to see more.
I’m here for this, she’d said.

Eeep, I was so excited to get back to Edward and Celia's story. After the ending in book 1, it was the most anticipated arc that I had coming!
And RUIN was a bit different.  There was a lot of waiting, and anticipation, and a boatload of covert mind games.  It was a fascinating read and kept me glued even though it wasn't as, well, intense as the first.  Ruin had more of a power play mind game wise. Yeah, I know.. Edward and Celia are both master manipulators, but Ruin was just that much more.  It didn't slay me. Didn't bring me to tears. Word for word it wasn't all that, yet... it was powerful. It brings Celia forefront in all her sadness and showcases just why she's been such a spiteful, mean person.  It brings another dimension to that ass, Edward. We see how he cares and why.  
Ruin was a very mind engaging read. Yes, there's still sexy, there's major anticipation, it's all just brought together so well.
