Black Swan Affair by KL Kreig Release Day Blitz with Rachel's Review

Title: Black Swan Affair
Author: K.L. Kreig
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 17, 2016

Blurb

I’ve loved him as long as I can remember.

The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop.

Killian Shepard.

Shep.

We grew up together. We played Ghost in the Graveyard. Had our own rock band. It didn’t matter that he was five years older than me. It didn’t matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into a woman. It didn’t even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life.

He’d be back.

He was always meant to be mine.

He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me.

So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do.

I got my revenge.

I married his brother, Kael.

Now we’re one big happy fucking family.

Remember when I said, if a song pops into my head while I'm reading a story, I'll let you know?  well here it is...feel free to let it play while you read my glowing words of praise!

I first met K L Kreig over a bunch of brothers.  They were hot, awesome and she told a great story. But Black Swan Affair? This story right here is the difference between great story and Great Fucking Story!
Her writing?  Simply fabulous...
~And guilt? God...the guilt. That emotion has this entire despicable scenario wrapped up in a nice, neat little bastardized package, tied up tight with a bright shiny bow of infamy.
This love triangle is awesome.
~Pining after someone's husband is one thing. Pining after someone's husband when you're now married-to his brother-is taking immorality to an entirely new level.
Ha, and he's married to her sister!
The characters? Well Maverick is just all confused.  She's been best friends with Kael ever since she can remember...and she's been in love with his older brother Killian, once again, ever since she can remember...probably ever since she was 4 and made him a mud pie for his birthday and he actually "ate" it, instead of walking off, not wanting to play with babies.
I was hooked before the end of the first chapter. KL Kreig's story line keeps you enthralled while her exceptional writing keeps you entertained.  Her characterization is done so well I can picture Killian and Kael without a problem...And Kael's dirty, filthy, sexy mouth? Oh holy effer, yes please...can he materialize in my bedroom tonight?
I read this entire story in one sitting. I literally did NOTHING else. I couldn't...I had to see who she would choose in the long run.
KL Kreigs writing was exceptional.  I am NOT a fan of time warps..that's what I call stories that are written back and forth in different "times".
This story is...and when I first saw that, I was soooo disappointed, expecting to have to "pay good attention" instead of letting the story tell itself..but DAMN. It was done SO well that I was looking forward to each different time...the children who ran and had fun..the young adults who keep their emotions, wants and desires tightly capped, waiting for the right time..and the adults who let it all out...their love, hate, dislike, disappointment. Perfection.
I flipped pages (ok, not really, I read it on my kindle) so quickly..I was so engrossed in the story that my family Finally, got the hint and  left me alone with my kindle and KL Kreigs wonderful words.
The ending? Hot damn, I am entirely in the YES, you have the right ending, group!  I couldn't imagine the story finishing any other way.

Author Bio

I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).
